Ansiedade e consumo de álcool nos adultos durante a pandemia de COVID-19: revisão integrativa

Abstract

A pandemia da COVID-19 afetou a saúde mental dos indivíduos, o bem-estar da população e ocasionou um impacto no uso de álcool, com alguns subgrupos mais afetados. Objetivou-se sistematizar o conhecimento da literatura científica sobre a prevalência de ansiedade e do consumo de álcool pela população adulta durante a pandemia do COVID-19. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, que utilizou as bases de dados e biblioteca virtual: LILACS, Pubmed, SciELO e Science Direct. O levantamento foi realizado, com os descritores controlados: “Prevalence”, “Anxiety”, “Alcohol Drinking”, “COVID-19” e “Adult”. A amostra foi composta por 19 artigos, a qual revelou que a pandemia afetou significativamente a saúde mental e o uso do álcool, a prevalência mediana de ansiedade e consumo de álcool foi de 26,7% e 33,3%, respectivamente. O enfrentamento da COVID-19 ocasionou uma série de mudanças na vida da sociedade, evidenciando o impacto na saúde mental e no consumo de bebidas alcoólicas, fazendo-se necessário que haja uma maior atenção quanto à elaboração de políticas públicas que visem o apoio psicológico e social da população.
